Broad Hinton Primary School
Dear all,
I can not believe that it is the end of the
academic year already and this is my last news of the year. The year has flown
by and we have achieved so many new things this year; fun packed themed weeks
and days, very active and effective school council, brilliant trips and visitors
to link in with the creative topic teaching, lots of fund raising for local and
national charities, very successful cake stall and other Friends events and
working more closely with the local community. As we evaluate our achievements
this year as teaching staff and governors we all look forward to the new
challenges ahead and hope for your continued support in these new ventures.
Thank you again from all the teaching staff and governors.
Sainsbury’s and
Tesco’s vouchers
Thank you to everyone who has donated vouchers from their
shopping trips to school. We have been able to purchase with them the following;
2 Beebots and direction maps, writing slop, cursive handwriting aids and various
PE equipment. Without this support we would not be able to buy the extras. Thank
you again.
Eco Schools Project.
The Eco Schools team alongside the
Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, Carillion Health and Ridgeway Green team and past
pupils have worked hard to put gather evidence and communicate our successes in
the last 3 years to an external assessor. We are very proud to announce that we
have gained the Green Flag status, the highest award possible for
sustainability. Well done to everyone in the past years who has put in time and
effort to make our school aware of environmental issues and put into place
sustainable ways to save energy and travel safely.
We hope that you have all
enjoyed the projects so far and we look forward to sharing in our projects in
the future.
Well done to our School Council this year who have been
organised, adventurous in their projects and generous in the contributions made
to other charities.
The Broad Hinton’s Got Talent was fantastic. Everyone,
pupils, teachers, governors and parents enjoyed watching and celebrating the
talents we have in school.
The School Fete
A huge thank you to everyone
who helped to make the school fete so successful: those who attended to make the
day fun and enjoyable for everyone; those who donated items for stalls; and
parents, children and staff who manned the stalls so efficiently. Early
indications are that the fete raised over £1,000! Thank you everyone, without
your support we would not be able to give our children the added extras they
enjoy throughout the year.
If you didn’t get to buy a school tea-towel at
the fete, decorated with the children’s self-portraits, you can still buy them
from the school office for £2.50 each.
