Kennet Valley Cricket Club
The
Kennet Valley Cricket Club, KVCC, play cricket on the club maintained pitch at
The Kennet Valley Hall, Lockeridge, Wiltshire. All our players, adults and
colts, come from the Wiltshire villages of the Kennet Valley - Clatford,
Fyfield, Lockeridge, West Overton, East Kennett, West Kennett and even as far
away as Marlborough!
We play a series of regular friendly Sunday fixtures
during the cricket season against other Wiltshire villages and teams from
further afield.
In the past this has included a team from Channel 4 TV. We
like to try to field a team which includes at least two colts per game, so the
youngsters are welcome to join as well. Colts should be at least 11 years old,
some knowledge of the game would be an advantage, although not necessary.
The
Teas that are produced are fantastic and are organized by the
wives/girlfriends/mums of the players, who also join us with the rest of the
families not only to support us but also for a great relaxing day out.
We
start the season by putting in some practice at the Marlborough Leisure Centre
indoor nets sports hall from around Jan/Feb, which leads up to the first game of
the season.
The Balsizewski Trophy will be played on 26th September 2010, a
yearly challenge between the Easties and Westies (the East of the KV Hall V the
West). A great day to give anyone the chance to test out their cricketing
skills, open to all who want to give it a go. This is the last match of the
season and is free to all who enter. The prize! Well the Trophy for the next
year of course, oh and a great tea as well. Let’s pray for good weather as well.
Won
by the Westies in 2009.
Why not contact us if you would like to play
some friendly cricket in the summer or take part in the Balsizewski Trophy, in
the beautiful Kennet Valley. Call Jason on 01672 511781 for a chat or further
details.

the horizon and would love to see new faces at any events. So if you want to be
